Mr. Monnin is a Senior Vice President with JLL’s Project and Development Services (PDS) group based in Columbus, Ohio. Dean is JLL’s National Higher Education leader for PDS services throughout North America. Mr. Monnin has been with JLL since 2004.

During his over 24 years of experience, Mr. Monnin has enjoyed managing a diverse range of project types, both on and off-campus, including student housing, academic space, administrative space, laboratores, student unions, etc.

Since 2010 Mr. Monnin has supported Bowling Green State University in a variety of projects supporting their resident life and academic improvement initiatives. He brought commercial project management expertise overseeing two public private partners hired to deliver two ground up dining centers totaling 42,000 sq. ft. and a $22 million investment. He currently serves as the University’s Program Manager as part of a special Executive Team tasked with identifying, prioritizing, and bringing to concept design a $200 million Master Plan program. The last project of this program, a $44.2 million College of Business, is underway and expected to open in fall 2020.

For The Ohio State University, Mr. Monnin worked with their 501c3 Campus Partners to oversee the development of an Alumni Center for the Moritz College of Law, offices for the OSU HR department and the seven screen Gateway Theatre, as well as provided retail tenant coordination for the mixed use South Campus Gateway development.

Dean additionally has deep corporate experience in various asset classes includingoffice, distribution centers, multi-site retail/food service, and entertainment. In addition to his higher education experience, Mr. Monnin has completed over four million sq. ft. of projects for clients such as Deloitte, Procter & Gamble, CVS, UnitedHealth Group, YUM Brands, Caribou, AT&T and Motorola, representing over $500 million in project costs. Mr. Monnin was a founding member, and five year national leader, of JLL’s LGBT+ Employee Resource Group which has advanced JLL’s policies and brought national awareness by achieving a perfect 100 score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index.

Mr. Monnin began his career as an interior designer for design firms such as RTKL in Washington, D.C. before joining Freddie Mac in McLean, Virginia as a project manager overseeing capital improvements.

Mr. Monnin holds an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in design from the University of Cincinnati. He is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council and has completed PMP certification and OSHA 10 Outreach Training.
