Michael is the Global MRO Manager for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company located in Findlay, Ohio. Cooper Tire is the 11th largest tire manufacturer and 4th largest in the United States. Cooper is publicly traded and is the parent company of a global family of companies that specializes in the design, manufacture, marketing and sales of passenger car and light truck tires.
Michael has been a part of the purchasing profession for over 20 years and specializes in inventory management, cost reduction programs and streamlining the purchasing process to name a few. In his current position Michael has lead a team that has helped drive cost savings of well over $1 million dollars in a 4 year period and in recognition of this effort the MRO team was awarded the coveted Chairman’s Award, an award given to acknowledge and thank employees who are actively shaping the business.
Over the course of his career Michael has developed a passion to see team members grow and strive to be the best they can be inside and outside of the workplace. He believes that true leaders are individuals who listen to team members, empower team members to make decisions; awards team members for great work and demonstrates how true leadership is done. When these four pillars of a leader are done, Michael believes that it will lead to employee retention.
Michael holds a B.A. and MBA in Business Administration from Tiffin University. He and his wife of 16 years reside in Findlay, Ohio and have 5 children ranging in ages from 5 moths to 8 years old.
