Asad Hamid is vice president of global marketing and innovation for Owens-Illinois, Inc. (NYSE: OI). He is based at the company’s world headquarters in Perrysburg, Ohio and is a member of the Americas and Global Sales and Marketing Leadership Teams.
Hamid is responsible for leading the Global Marketing organization, located in multiple countries in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. His focus is on innovation, category management, marketing communications, and market intelligence to continuously evolve the market strategy for the organization. Hamid joined O-I in July 2017.
Prior to O-I, Hamid spent more than 20 years in the consumer products industry, across multiple product categories and technologies. He established and led the global packaging function for the Campbell Soup Company. His career also includes extensive innovation, corporate strategy and general management leadership roles with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco, Unilever and Mars, Inc.
Hamid holds an Masters of Business Administration from IMD Switzerland, and an MSc Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Hamid has a passion for exploring new cultures and cuisines with family and friends. He speaks five languages, has lived on three continents and has visited over fifty countries.
