Roland Saunders Gonzales is a human resources practitioner with 10+ years of experience in supporting initiatives related to HR policy/procedure, collective bargaining, change management, HR technology, and diversity & inclusion.

Currently, Roland works as the Human Resources Officer for the City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities. In this role Roland leads a professional HR team in the areas of Labor Relations, Recruitment, Training & Development, and Payroll/Benefits, where they administer two collective bargaining agreements and support approximately 1,300 city employees. He is an Ambassador for the Ohio Public Employer Labor Relations Association (OHPELRA), an organization that supports public sector employers on matters pertaining to labor/human resources.

Roland holds senior level certifications with the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), as well as a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management. He is also a Class of 2018 graduate of the Leadership Columbus Signature Program.
