With over 20 years of leadership experience, Mark Masuoka has successfully led non-profit organizations and businesses in achieving exceptional performance and sustainability. As the new Executive Director and CEO of the Akron Art Museum, he will utilize his two decades of arts management and community development experience and create a new model for art museums, nationally and internationally.

Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Mark Masuoka earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Hawaii in 1983 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 1987.

Mark has been an advisor and panelist for the Alliance of Artists Communities, Joyce Foundation, Joan Mitchell Foundation, USA Artists, National Endowment for the Arts and served on the board of directors for the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Why Arts?, Kent Bellows Studio and Art Center, Alliance of Artists Communities, Omaha Public Art Commission and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.
