Christopher Nance is a business professional dedicated to solving problems and building strong communities. Chris facilitates strategic partnerships in the public, private and non-profit sectors – working with C-Level leaders, community representatives and organized labor. Nance, a native Clevelander, served as a United Way professional in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Hartford, Connecticut. He solidified his fundraising expertise with several organizations in Connecticut and New York City – including: major and annual gifts, planned giving, special events, and board development. Returning to Ohio in 2004, Nance shifted focus to public sector, serving as Deputy District Director for Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Chris provided strategic advice – with a particular focus on work with voter advocates to develop analysis and gather expert testimony for congressional oversight committees. Nance’s public service work continued being appointed Assistant Secretary of State by Ohio’s Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner in January 2007. Chris partnered with the Secretary to facilitate a comprehensive review of Ohio’s voting systems as well as the successful effort to the re-engineer the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. Currently, Chris facilitates the implementation of the Community Benefits effort at the Greater Cleveland Partnership – an economic development strategy driving inclusive workforce and wealth building opportunities in construction. Nance is a graduate of Shaker Heights High School and earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College in Political Science.
