Jonathan Cain, Program Founder and CEO of Future Stars of Dayton began in 2014 with the vision and tenacity of empowering a brighter future for our young African American males. As a entrepreneur and servant leader within his community, Jonathan brings a wealth of experience in programming, health and wellness and a strong passion for serving as a mentor and life coach for today’s youth. He is responsible for program creation across the City of Dayton, implementation and building and maintaining strong relationships with mentors, families, school districts and community partners. Over his 16 year career working with youth, he has worked for the City of Dayton’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services, Greater Dayton YMCA and a host of public, private and charter schools. Jonathan has created a model where data shows significant gains in grade promotion, attendance, behavior, parental involvement, teacher/staff involvement, program participant retention and decreasing student suspension rates.

Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Jonathan is intimately aware of the challenges that face our African America children having navigated the path all his life. As a youth, who was raised by his single mom, he was enriched through programs consisting of Sinclair Community College’s Young Scholars Program, Central State’s Upward Bound Program, and multiple athletic clubs and teams. Jonathan firmly believes that when someone is given the opportunity and encouragement to build on their God-given potential, there is little that they cannot accomplish; and he is intent on providing those same opportunities to young males and females of today. Jonathan holds a BS from Wilmington College and a MBA from Antioch University McGregor. He is married to his beautiful wife Erica Cain and has three children; Jalyn, Jonathan Jr. and Janae.
