Originally from San Diego, Liz Roccoforte earned her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine and holds a Masters degree in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Cincinnati. Roccoforte has been a diversity and inclusion practitioner for over 10 years and has enjoyed working with a variety of non-profits, for profits and governmental agencies alike, as well as in a wide range of educational settings.

Her facilitation and program development experience emphasize intersectionality, microaggressions, unconscious bias, marginalized identity development and racial justice. Liz strives to create safe space for workshop participants to expand their knowledge and skills relating to diversity, inclusion and social justice.

Liz serves as the inaugural Director of the LGBT Center at Case Western Reserve University. During her tenure as Director, she has helped shift the culture on campus for LGBTQ students, faculty and staff alike, by overseeing the addition of transgender related health care benefits for students and employees, the implementation of a preferred name policy, as well as the creation of a robust Safe Zone program which has trained over 1200 CWRU members. Her most recent accomplishment is working collaboratively to implement Gender Inclusive Housing at CWRU.

Prior, to her current position she served as the Program Manager in CWRU’s Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity and as the Director of Professional Development at the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio.

Liz resides with her partner Jude, their 15 month old son, Gabe in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
