Anita Bethune is a Senior Manager of Compliance at Discover Financial Services, where she works closely with senior leadership to ensure Discover maintains a comprehensive and effective system of policies, procedures and internal controls relative to fraud detection and suspicious activity reporting.
Anita is responsible for coordinating certain operational aspects of Discover’s investigation of suspicious activity related to consumer transactions and fraud, and creation of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) -related products from investigations (e.g. SAR-related Policies and Procedures, Governance, Training and Quality Assurance). Anita works across business lines, compliance teams, and technology groups to accomplish critical tasks affording the ability to perfect investigative procedure and process along with operationalizing requirements.
Since joining Discover Financial Services, in 2009, Anita has held a variety of roles with increasing levels of responsibility. Anita earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University and resides in Pickerington with her husband and two young daughters.
