Mark Shaker currently serves as chief executive officer of Miami Valley Hospital, a Premier Health organization. Mark has been with Premier Health for more than 30 years, having joined the organization in 1985. Mark is the leader of one of the largest hospitals in the country, a full-service acute care facility which features southwest Ohio’s only Level 1 trauma center. Mark brings a wide array of senior management experience to the Miami Valley region through both his work in the healthcare industry where he collaborates with more than 1,400 physicians and 5,500 staff members to build healthier communities and his philanthropic servant leadership.

Previously, Mark served as Premier Health’s senior vice president for service integration, its vice president of the northern division, as well as CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital. Prior to his tenure at Good Samaritan, Mark spent 14 years at Miami Valley Hospital where he held positions of progressive responsibility, including vice president of strategic improvement, plus both senior vice president and assistant vice president of hospital operations. In addition, he spent five years as CEO of Fidelity Health Care.

During his tenure with Premier Health Mark has been actively involved in numerous philanthropic outreach endeavors with local, national and international not-for-profit agencies. His community involvement includes service on the Children’s Joint Venture, Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association, and Dayton’s CityWide Development boards. He has been a volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a campaign chair for United Way, and the chair of Oktoberfest at the Dayton Art Institute. In addition, he has served as a board member for Hospice of Dayton, as an executive board member for the Boy Scouts of America-Miami Valley Council, and as an associate board member for the Dayton Art Institute.

Mark earned a master’s degree in health administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO., and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from The Ohio State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and former Regent for its southeastern Ohio territory.
