Carey Sowle is the Chief Operating Officer for Solana, a Wauseon, Ohio based software company. Solana is a for-profit subsidiary of Sunshine Communities, Inc. a local agency serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Solana provides enterprise resource planning software and solutions for agencies like Sunshine Communities across the United States. As COO Carey leads the implementation, support, and business services teams. She has held this position since 2007.

Carey graduated from Lake Superior State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and secondary education. She has an extensive background in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities; both in direct support and leadership positions. At Solana, Carey and her team have assisted more than 130 agencies across the country with software implementation and ongoing support. One of Carey’s primary focuses is providing an exceptional customer experiance. Her team consistently scores above average on the Net Promoter Score index, a rating system that measures customer satisfaction.

Carey has a passion to help others achieve their goals. Whether it is at work or in her personal life, Carey is committed to enriching lives. In her free time Carey is a volunteer coach for the YMCA and OHYSA for basketball and soccer and a parent leader with Campfire of Southeast Michigan. She and her wife, Cheryl, have been together for 16 years, live in Ottawa Hills and have an eight-year-old daughter, Warren.
