Carolyn Craig is a Faculty Member in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University and a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP). Her expertise includes Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy development, implementation and assessment, undergraduate and graduate diversity, marketing, management and creativity curriculum design and development, faculty/staff diversity training and development, multicultural student recruitment, diversity board and committee leadership, diverse employee resource group leadership and multicultural/cultural marketing. Carolyn often partners with the President, Provost and Vice President of Institutional Diversity offices at Miami to help lead university- level diversity initiatives. She provides academic support to business and diverse student populations, is a Faculty Advisor to student organizations and a keynote speaker, lecturer, and panelist on topics related to Diversity, Gender Equity, Inclusion, Multicultural Marketing and Diversity in Management. Carolyn has been recognized for “Teaching Excellence” in the classroom and often receives special recognition for her leadership with students, faculty/staff and in service to the university. Carolyn currently serves as President of Miami’s Association of Black Faculty & Staff, Lead Facilitator for Miami’s Inclusive Excellence Faculty Learning Community, on the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (a National Science Foundation STEM initiative) Committee, and the Farmer School of Business Diversity Committee.

Prior to her academic career, Carolyn was an accomplished Business Executive and Diversity & Inclusion Leader whose impact and influence extended to Fortune 500 corporations and businesses in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Building Materials and Consumer Goods industries. She not only had responsibility for multimillion-dollar business spanning multiple states and regions, but Carolyn led strategic diversity and multicultural marketing initiatives, led national and regional Affinity Networks (Employee Resource Groups), recommended organizational changes that positively affected minority and female populations, actively located, identified, and recruited qualified and diverse candidates for job openings and served on national Diversity & Inclusion Boards. Carolyn was often requested by Senior Leaders to ensure integration of diversity and inclusion principles into the organizational culture, in order to help drive inclusion and establishment of the organization’s diversity goals, objectives, and strategies. Throughout her professional career, Carolyn not only received numerous awards and recognition in the areas of Sales, Marketing and Management/Leadership including the “President’s Club” as a result of delivering breakthrough business results including at Procter & Gamble, a Fortune 50 company, but also received numerous Diversity Leadership Recognition awards as a result of her work.

In the community, Carolyn is Director of the Higher Education Leadership Ministry (H.E.L.M) at Legacy Pointe Church, a Mentor Volunteer with the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative and Secretary of the Cincinnati Advisory Board for the Ohio Diversity Council (a subgroup of The National Diversity Council). Carolyn is a member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE), the Society of Diversity, the National Diversity Council and several other professional associations.

Carolyn holds a B.S.B.A (Marketing) from Miami University, a M.B.A. (Management) from The University of Detroit Mercy where she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a premier honor society recognizing the “Best in Business”, and has earned a certification in Diversity & Inclusion from The National Diversity Council.
